Fall Seminar Series in Charleston Open to Public

The Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) offers a seminar series each fall.  The talks take place on Fridays at 4 p.m. in the Boathouse auditorium.  These are serious scientific lectures, not casual presentations for interested laypeople. Those interested into delving into the perspectives of professional biologists sharing information with their peers are welcome to attend and explore.

The series begins on Sept. 30 with a talk by Gustav Paulay, curator of marine malacology (the study of mollusks) at the Florida Museum of Natural History, based at the University of Florida.  His talk is entitled "What biodiversity surveys tell us about our knowledge of marine life."
