Archaeology Talk
Archaeologists Kevin Bruce and Molly Kirkpatrick, who work for the Siuslaw National Forest, will speak on the forest's archaeological resources on Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. at the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center (2400 Hwy 101, Yachats). The talk is free and open to the public. Details have not yet been released; more information to come in this space.
The talk is part of the Cape Perpetua Speaker Series, free educational presentations offered by the Siuslaw National Forest to audment the area's hiking, tidepooling, and exploring opportunities.. Presentations are held every Saturday from Nov. 3 to Dec. 29 and focus on wildlife, geology, landscapes, and threatened species along with other unique topics.
All events are free and open to the public, but a Northwest Forest Pass, Oregon Coast Passport, Federal Recreation Pass or $5 day-use fee is required within the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area and at many Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area recreation sites.
