Bastendorff Bog Hike

For those who prefer to “opt outside” on Black Friday rather than hit the stores, the Southcoast Striders offer a Bastendorff Bog trail hike, beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26. 

The hike will start from the Sunset Bay State Park day use area, on Cape Arago Hwy south of Charleston.  The hike will cross the highway, go through the campground, and follow the bog trail out to Yoakam Point, which provides a view of the Cape Arago Lighthouse.  The hike will then return to the starting point; those wishing to do more walking can continue along the coast to Shore Acres and back.

Hike groups will be limited to 15 people each.  It is necessary to register so that numbers can be controlled.  To register, go here.
