Beaver Talk and Trip
While this event takes place over the border, it concerns the Smith River watershed, most of which is in Oregon. On June 24, biologist Marisa Parish will present “Tolowa Coast Beavers,” a lecture on beaver life-histories and the research being conducted on them in the Smith River watershed. The talk takes place at the Lake Earth Wildlife Area Information Center (2591 Old Mill Rd.) in Crescent City. After the talk, Parish will lead a field trip to a nearby wetland. The entire affair takes place from 1-4 p.m.
Parish coordinates the Smith River Alliance’s estuary program and works on watershed protection and restoration projects.
The event, sponsored by the Redwood Parks Conservancy and Tolowa Dunes Stewards, is free and open to all. For more information, call (707) 465-6191.
