Big Blue Film Fest
On Friday Jan. 27 and Saturday Jan. 28 the Hatfield Marine Science Center will host the Big Blue Film Fest. The event will primarily take place in the Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building Auditorium (2030 SE Marine Science Dr. in Newport).
About the event:
"The Big Blue Film Fest (previously the Hatfield Marine Science Center Film Festival) showcases ocean-themed films at the confluence of the marine sciences, humanities and arts. Hosted at the Hatfield Marine Science Center, Oregon State University’s premiere marine sciences campus in Newport, Oregon, the festival not only engages the community and provides a lively weekend of research-based entertainment, but it also raises awareness about marine issues and how we might solve them.
Enjoy a wide range of films, Q&As with filmmakers and special guests, mixers with filmmakers and local experts, and an awards ceremony to celebrate our wonderful ocean-themed films."
Tickets must be purchased online and are $20 for adults or $12 for students. To purchase tickets, view the schedule, and learn more about the featured films, go here.
