The South Coast Striders, back out in the field, are offering a hike from Sunset Bay State Park to Cape Arago on Sunday, April 25, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Meet at the Sunset Bay day use parking lot, near the volleyball courts and restrooms at the south end. The short version of the hike will end before noon (unless you spend time in the gardens), and the long version at 2:30.
The hike, observing pandemic protocols, will be limited to 15 people, although if more people wish to hike, and additional leaders step forward, groups can leave at staggered times. The full hike goes from Sunset Bay past Shores Acres and the Simpson Reef Overlook, and on to Cape Arago.
From Highway 101, follow the signs from downtown Coos Bay or North Bend (depending on whether you are coming from south or north) to Charleston, and then on to the Cape Arago Highway and Sunset Bay.
