Fawn Custer, CoastWatch’s volunteer coordinator, will provide a presentation on citizen science as part of the Cape Perpetua Speaker Series. Her talk, free and open to the public, takes place on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. at the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center (2400 Hwy 101, about three miles south of Yachats).
Fawn will discuss the range of citizen science efforts in which CoastWatch is engaged, with special emphasis on the King Tide Project, through which the highest tides of the year are documented by volunteer photographers, and the sea star and marine debris surveys.
