Clatsop County is updating its comprehensive plan, and the current focus is on how statewide planning Goal 7, concerning natural hazards, is covered in the plan. The commission will next take up this task at its meeting on Tuesday, March 8, at 10 a.m. The meeting is online and, of course, open to the public. There will be an opportunity for members of the public to testify.

Oregon Shores has contributed comments to the process calling for doing more to incorporate anticipated climate change in the plan, such as by planning for higher levels of flooding and enacting stricter standards for developing on slopes, as well as taking the habitat needs of endangered species into account.
