The state of Oregon’s Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) has released a review draft of the new Oregon Climate Change Adaptation Framework. Public comments will be accepted until October 31.
DLC is offering a webinar on the rural concerns addressed in the plan on Friday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. To register for the webinar, go here.
The Framework is intended to guide state leadership and staff as they make decisions about where to invest resources as climate changes. Many of these programs and projects will be implemented in collaboration with local government and community partners.
The Framework was prepared by a work group comprised of staff representing 24 state agencies, coordinated by the Department of Land Conservation and Development.
DLCD is hosting a series of focused webinars in September to describe the intention of the Framework, review its contents, and answer questions. Additional webinars will take place on Sept. 25 concerning rural issues, and Sept. 29 on urban issues.
To take a survey on climate adaption, or learn more about the plan, see the project’s website.
