The Northwest Climate Science Center has announced a new Actionable Climate Science Skills-building Webinar Series. These webinars are designed to help those engaged in climate science research better understand the range of approaches for developing actionable science. Each webinar will explore ways to support effective collaborations between scientific researchers and natural resource managers.  While they are intended for professionals, anyone concerned about climate science and how it can be applied to resource management can listen in.

The second webinar in the series takes place Tuesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. Entitled “An introduction to collaborative research methods,” it features Alison Meadow, a research scientist with the Institute of the Environment at the University of Arizona. Dr. Meadow has a background in environmental anthropology.  Her research focuses on the process of linking scientists with decision-makers to improve the usability of climate science.  She has also worked on interdisciplinary teams assisting natural resource, cultural resource, and emergency managers.  She will discuss the particular approaches to research that allows it to be both scientifically research and also helpful to resource managers, conservationists, and others applying the information.
