CoastWatch Beachwalk
Here’s a chance to learn about coastal natural history, freshen your CoastWatch observational skills, and meet our new CoastWatch volunteer coordinator, all at once. Fawn Custer, our former volunteer coordinator and now our citizen science trainer, will lead a beachwalk at 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, at Quail Beach in Seal Rock. She will be joined by Jesse Jones, our new coordinator, who in this case will be literally following in Fawn’s footsteps. Jesse will be there to learn from Fawn herself, but will be glad to talk with participants about CoastWatch’s future and opportunities to engage in citizen science activities.
Meet at the Quail Street access in Seal Rock, about a mile south of the main Seal Rock State Park parking lot. Parking is available at the access point—or, if feeling energetic, you can park at the state park lot and walk down. You can’t miss Fawn in her trademark orange rainpants.
For more information, call Fawn at (541) 270-0027.
