Fawn Custer, our CoastWatch volunteer coordinator, will be at Sunset Bay State Park on the morning of Sunday, Aug. 13.  She is making the trip to lead a private beachwalk for a group that won this in the raffle at the last King Tide Party wrap-up project.

But as long as she will be there, she hopes to take advantage of the opportunity to provide more people with information about shoreline ecology, CoastWatch, the Beach Bill’s 50th anniversary and citizen science.  So, when she finishes the private walk, she will turn around and lead a public version, beginning at 11 a.m.

Meet her in the parking lot at Sunset Bay.  Fawn will discuss both the sandy and rocky shores around the bay, introduce CoastWatch and citizen science to those not already familiar with this work (and please bring along people who might be interested in learning!), and answer any and all questions.  While this isn’t a CoastWatch “training session,” per se, she will happily give pointers for CoastWatch mile monitoring.

If you would like more information or want to RSVP about participating so she’ll keep an eye out for you, contact Fawn at (541) 270-0027, fawn@oregonshores.org.
