In the wake of the community’s successful resistance to the proposed—and now defeated— "Oregon LNG" export facility, citizens of the lower Columbia area formed the Columbia River Estuary Action Team  (CREATE) to address a wider range of issues affecting the Astoria and Warrenton areas.

CREATE will gather this Thursday, November 17, 6 p.m., at Astoria’s Blue Scorcher Bakery (1493 Duane St.) for its monthly meeting.  This session is aimed particularly at serving as an open forum for all concerned citizens to discuss where the group finds itself and what its goals should be for 2017.  This is a chance to get in on the ground floor of environmental activism on behalf of the Columbia and its bordering human communities.  Dan Serres of Columbia Riverkeeper will also be in attendance to provide an update on issues.
