The Bureau of Land Management is preparing a Recreation Area Management Plan (RAMP) for the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area in Newport.  The deadline for public comments is close of business on February 9.

At this stage of the process, members of the public are asked to provide input on any aspect of management or development of the site that concerns them or in regard to which they have ideas for improvements or new directions.  Issues to be considered in the RAMP range from vegetation management and species of concern, to education and scientific research, to historic resources and scenic values.  Essentially, any topic can be raised.

To comment, or to request more information, go online at bit.ly/YaquinaRAMP; e-mail Janet Johnson, Yaquina Head manager, at janetjohnson@blm.gov; or mail comments to Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, re: RAMP, 750 N.W. Lighthouse Dr., Newport, OR  97365.

Once the public comment period is complete, BLM staff will prepare a draft plan and Environmental Assessment, which the public will in turn have the opportunity to review.
