The Blue Ridge Trail system is a unique and fun area that allows people to hike, bike, horseback ride and drive their dirt bikes. This trail system is very close to the city of Coos Bay and allows visitors an easy access to Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands. The trails have been closed the past couple of years due to logging. A project would has been organized to re-open the trails through trail maintenance. The public will help cut back over grown vegetation on the trails, put in water bars, mark trails with signs and or markers, remove debris from trails, cut trees off the trails, and engage in litter pickup.

Volunteers should meet at the parking lot located on BLM road #26-12-35.4, between Mud Bog Alley trail and Jigiiyat trail. The BLM has a limited supply of shovels, loppers and rakes, so if you are willing to bring your own that would be great.

National Public Lands Day is an annual event through which members of the public volunteer to improve public lands.  To thank people for their service, each volunteer will receive a t-shirt and a certificate for a fee free day at any BLM, National Park, U.S. Forest Service, or Army Corps of Engineer site, as well as refreshments.
