The Partnership for Coastal Watersheds invites the public to an open house for the Coos Estuary Land Use Analysis Project on Wednesday, April 25, from 3-7:30 p.m.  There will be repeat presentations at 3 and 5:30 p.m., with gallery-style open house to follow each.  It takes place at The Mill Casino (3201Tremont Ave.) in North Bend, in the 2nd Floor Meeting Rooms.

From the Partnership for Coastal Watersheds’ announcement:  “Be part of helping the planning efforts for updating the Coos Bay Estuary Management Plan (CBEMP). Come join us to learn about the status of the CBEMP, suggested areas of improvement to it based on community stakeholder suggestions, as well as environmental and socio-economic conditions of the Coos estuary and surrounding communities.” Learn more about the partnership and the estuary planning process on their website.

Those attending will be asked to take a survey to evaluate proposed recommendations and suggested areas of improvement to the current CBEMP. All community input, including the survey responses, will be included in a final report and presented to the Coos County Board of Commissioners. If unable to attend the open house you can still provide survey responses here.

For more information about the open house contact Jenni Schmitt at jenni.schmitt@state.or.us or (541) 888-8270, ext. 312.
