The Oregon Dunes Restoration Collaborative is holding its next meeting on Friday, Oct. 5, beginning at 9 a.m. in Florence’s Community Baptist Church (4590 Hwy 101).  The public is invited to learn about activities being conducted to preserve and restore the Oregon Dunes, and then join a tour.

The first hour and a half or so will be taken up with updates on the organization’s work.  At 11:30, the group will depart from the church for the Siltcoos River mouth, to study snowy plover and pink sandverbena restoration work taking place there.  The tour will then continue to visit two other restoration sites, returning to the church at about 4:30.

It is essential that you RSVP, so that enough vehicles will be provided by the Forest Service for the tour.  Contact Donni Lyn Vogel, natural resources and planning officer for the Siuslaw National Forest, (541) 670-1499, dvogel@fs.fed.us, for information or to RSVP.
