Earth Day at Otter Rock
Join CoastWatch to celebrate Earth Day at the Otter Rock Marine Reserve. Join Fawn Custer, CoastWatch’s volunteer coordinator, beginning at 11 a.m., for a day packed with citizen science activities, CoastWatch training for those who need it, and a guided beachwalk beginning at noon to catch a very low tide.
It all takes place at the Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area, on the north side of the community of Otter Rock—follow the trail down from the restrooms. Drop by for a while, or spend the entire four hours with Fawn, learning about the tidepools and the driftline while picking up pointers about CoastWatch monitoring and citizen science surveys for marine debris, sea stars, beached birds and other shoreline phenomena.
