The Governor’s Environmental Justice Task Force, meeting this Friday (Dec. 8) in Salem, has added a discussion of the Jordan Cove LNG export terminal to its agenda. This is late notice, but it provides an opportunity for opponents of the project to get the ear of the Brown administration in describing all the ways that the LNG facility and associated pipeline will harm communities all along the route.
The meeting takes place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Department of State Lands’ Land Board Room, 775 Summer St., N.E., #100, in Salem. Jordan Cove and other issues involving pipelines and natural gas are on the agenda from 11-11:30 a.m.
Also of special interest to coastal citizens is a discussion of aerial spray bans or exclusion zones from 12:15-12:30 p.m. Other agenda subjects include clean energy jobs and the Cleaner Air Oregon initiative.
To call in to the meeting, 1-888-557-8511, passcode: 1288542
