Global Warming Commission Meets
The Oregon Global Warming Commission will meet virtually on Thursday, Aug. 18, 1-4 p.m.
The Commission will hear an update on the Roadmap to 2035, the state’s long-range agenda for meeting Oregon’s emission reduction standards. The Roadmap briefing will include a presentation and discussion on modeled scenarios, financial metrics, and co-benefits.
Of special interest to the coast is the other topic of this meeting, a report from the Natural and Working Lands Advisory Committee. This is where discussion of blue carbon—carbon stored by marshes, eelgrass beds, and kelp forests—takes place.
The agenda and information about how to listen in are available on the Commission’s website. Additional materials will be available prior to the meeting.
General public comments may be submitted through the Commission's contact form online or by email. Comments related to the Roadmap may be submitted through the online portal.
Members of the public will also have an opportunity to sign up at the beginning of the meeting to make oral comments.
