Guided Bird Walk

The Yaquina Birders and Naturalists are offering a guided walk devoted to coastal wintering birds on Saturday, February 19, from 9-11 a.m.
Eric Horvath, international bird guide and long-time YB&N member, will lead this field trip. In winter just offshore and in estuaries, sea ducks and other waterbirds are abundant. The trip will begin by searching the waters of Yaquina Bay for grebes, scoters, mergansers and goldeneyes. But much of the birding action in winter is just offshore so the trip will visit Seal Rock to scan the open ocean for cormorants, loons and murres.
The public is invited to join this free field trip. Dress for variable weather and meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot in front of the Hatfield Marine Science Center’s Visitor Center. For more information, call 541-961-1307.
