The South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve's outreach program invites the public to join them for a Harvest Moon Evening Paddle Trip on Monday, Sept. 24, from 6-9 p.m. Meet at the Distant Water Fleet parking lot at the harbor in Charleston. The cost is $15/boat (minimum of 3 boats, maximum of 15).
This is an opportunity to experience the South Slough in knowledgeable company as the sun slips behind the horizon and the full moon climbs into the evening sky. During the five-mile paddle, experienced guides will show participants areas of the reserve rarely seen by visitors.
Bring your own kayak or canoe, paddles, PFD's, headlamp or waterproof flashlight, as well as water and an evening meal. Feet and legs may get wet and muddy at the launch point. Driver and shuttle will be provided.
