Invasive Species Seminar
The Northwest Regional Invasive Species and Climate Change Network, a partnership among regional agencies and organizations to address the nexus of climate change and invasive species, is holding a virtual symposium on Sept. 15-16. The first day’s events run from 9 a.m.-noon.
The objective is to help practitioners within federal, tribal, state, and local agencies and conservation organizations integrate climate change science and adaptation with invasive species prevention, early detection, control, monitoring, and research activities. Managers, scientists, and others concerned about invasive species will gather online to discuss climate change, extreme events such as wildfires and droughts, and how these affect invasive species management in the Northwest.
This is a chance to learn about both current research and on-the-ground projects in the region, and to build new partnerships. If you are working on a project you would like to showcase in this symposium, contact rachel@EcoAdapt.org.
