This winter’s King Tide Project, through which volunteer photographers document the highest tides of the year, is underway. This is day two of the first round of the 2018-2019 King Tide Project; the first set of extreme tides runs Dec. 21-23. (The other two high-tide series the project will cover will be January 19-21, 2019, and February 18-20.) The project reveals areas currently prone to flooding, but more important, gives us a preview of the coast in coming decades as sea level rises due to climate change.
