Erin Grady from the Civil Liberties Defense Center in Eugene will be the speaker this on this evening.  She has  a background in direct action and forest defense. Her talk will apply these principles to the spraying and other issues coastal citizens face.  To learn more about Erin Grady and the Civil Liberties Defense Center, please read below:

The Civil Liberties Defense Center supports movements that seek to dismantle the political and economic structures at the root of social inequality and environmental destruction. We provide litigation, education, legal and strategic resources to strengthen and embolden their success.

CLDC educates, supports and defends grassroots activists nationwide. We are dedicated to being a backbone for the grassroots and the frontlines. We help activists navigate the legal system, we represent them at no cost when they are arrested and we help them make smart choices in the face of state repression.

Erin Grady is an organizer at the CLDC. She has a background organizing direct action campaigns in Oregon, before she started working for the CLDC. She spent nearly a decade taking on clearcut logging and oil and gas infrastructure with Cascadia Forest Defenders, Coast Range Forest Watch and various Rising Tide groups. Now she works with the CLDC in order to pass on good legal information and support to the direct action community locally and nationwide.
