Local Seafood Webinar
Join a panel of experts including distributors, fish harvesters and advocates to discuss the supply chain issues spotlighted in the news stories of seafood supplier Sea To Table on October 4th, at 12 p.m. PST. This webinar is sponsored by EcoTrust, One Fish Foundation, NAMA, Local Catch, Slow Fish and is open to everyone.
The motivation behind this webinar series came as a collaborative response to the recent AP coverage of Sea to Table – a popular and self-proclaimed local, sustainable, and transparent seafood distributor in New York that was connected to seafood slavery in Indonesia. They aim to take a deeper dive into the complex and alarming issues discussed. Several important questions arose from this episode: What is the impact of this and similar allegations in the industry? What are the implications on the movement to promote and expand the reach of responsibly harvested seafood? How do we, as a community, hold each other accountable for violations of the Core Values that advance the movement? How do we instill, grow, rebuild, and repair trust throughout the supply chain?
Although we may not have all of the answers, the goal is to have the conversations that could spark new ideas that could ultimately effect meaningful change.
