Potentially interested parties are invited to a presentation on the Oregon Master Naturalist Program by its statewide coordinator, Jason O’Brien.  It takes place on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Oregon State University Lincoln County Extension office (1211 S.E. Bay Blvd.) in Newport.

O'Brien, will share information about the program and its roots of providing citizens with the opportunities to learn about natural resources through the scientific training and then to share the information they gain with the community.  Topics include the natural history of plants, animals, and their habitats; geology; the history and processes of landscape change; and the most relevant topics in present-day sustainable natural resource management.  Master Naturalist candidates can focus on various ecoregions, including the coast.
