Nehalem River Film Screening

Oregon Shores supports the effort to achieve State Scenic Waterway status for the north coast’s Nehalem River.  The Wild Salmon Center, which has been playing an active role in this campaign, has created a new film, “Nehalem:  A Wild Salmon Stronghold.”

Metro-area residents will have an opportunity to view the film and learn about the Nehalem preservation campaign during a special screening on Thursday, April 18, 7 p.m. at the Portland Patagonia store (1106 S.W. 11^th St.).

What do coho salmon, beaver analogs, and state forests have in common? The filmmakers promise to explain.  The event will also include information on why we need to improve forestry management in Oregon, and next steps to designate the Nehalem as a State Scenic Waterway.  Also speaking will be Patagonia's own fly fishing “ambassador,” Kate Crump, who will share stories about chasing wild steelhead on the Oregon Coast.

Screen printing is also being offered--bring your own item to get printed on. Complimentary snacks and drinks will be provided.
