The Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) is kicking of a year-long strategic planning process with a series of “listening sessions” around the state.  These give citizens concerned about watershed management, watershed councils and the restoration efforts supported by OWEB a chance to voice their concerns and ideas.

The only one on the coast will take place in Newport on Friday, March 24, 2-5 p.m. in the Oregon Coast Community College’s Community Room (400 S.E. College Way).

During the listening sessions, you will be asked to help the board identify strategies, values, beliefs, and assumptions that inform its work. You will also be asked for your input on actions OWEB might take, with an eye toward innovative approaches the board should consider in their next plan, and to help identify how OWEB’s investments can help address those issues.

For more background and a listing of the other locations around the state, go to OWEB’s bulletin.

You can also contact OWEB directly for more information: (503) 986-0178, darika.barnes@oregon.gov
