The Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council’s Rocky Habitat Working Group holds its next meeting on Monday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to allow plenty of time for discussion of the state’s newly rocky habitat management strategy. The meeting will take place physically in the conference room of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department’s Coastal Region Office in Seal Rock (12735 N.W. Pacific Hwy.). Most participants are expected to plug in remotely—see below for information on how to do this.
The group is expected to make a number of decisions on draft designation regulations and community proposal process during this meeting. Once published, the agenda will be available here. (If you are wondering about the name, this was formerly the Rocky Shores Working Group. Despite the baffling name change, this has to do with rocky intertidal areas and offshore rocks, not rocky habitats elsewhere in the state.)
For more information, contact Deanna Caracciolo, the state’s rocky shores coordinator, at (503) 956-8163, Deanna.Caracciolo@state.or.us.
