The Kalmiopsis Audubon Society's Let's Go Birding series offers a trip to look for birds that migrate here for the winter, including Fox Sparrows, Hermit Thrushes, Spotted Towhees, and the Ruby-crowned Kinglets. The trip will be led by expert birder Gary Maschmeyer.
Meet at Gold Beach Visitor Center (94080 Shirley Ln.) at 8:45 a.m. . To carpool from Brookings, meet Gary (the trip leader) at the Azalea Middle School parking lot at 505 Pacific Ave in Brookings at 8 a.m.
