The 2021 Coast Region Symposium will be held in Ocean Shores, Washington, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27.  The theme is “Restoration to Resilience:  Salmon Habitat in a Changing Climate.”  The event is free and open to all, but registration (by Oct. 12) is required.

While the event takes place in Washington at the Ocean Shores Convention Center (120 W. Chance a La Mer N.W., Ocean Shores), it is also possible to attend online, making it more accessible to Oregonians.

The agenda focuses on efforts to protect and restore healthy habitats for salmon, and what climate change may mean for these efforts.  Speakers will review current impacts to streamflow and water quality, and discuss approaches to habitat restoration that can provide resiliency in the face of climate change.  Speakers include scientific experts on climate, salmon biology, freshwater ecology, and restoration techniques.

Here is the preliminary agenda.
