Scotch Broom Symposium—Day 2

Scotch Broom disrupts ecosystems and crowds out native plants throughout the Pacific Northwest, and especially on the Oregon coast.  Therefore, the 2020 Scotch Broom Symposium may be of interest to Oregonians seeking to suppress invasive species affecting the coast.  This year’s edition of the symposium will take place entirely online, in observance of stay-at-home practices.  The agenda has been modified to better fit a virtual platform. The symposium will be held as a series of sessions over three days, June 2-4.  Each day’s session takes place 11 a.m.-2 p.m.  Register separately for each session.

Scotch broom is one of the Northwest’s most pervasive and costly invasive species, with an annual potential impact of $143 million. The purpose of this symposium is to share information between natural resource managers and researchers and to share new and best practices to a wide audience. The sponsors include the Western Invasives Network, the Washington Invasive Species Council, and a host of other agencies that must deal with the plant.
