As part of its OSU150 celebration, Oregon State University’s extension program is offering an opportunity to eat local seafood, learning about sustainable seafood, and discuss including seafood in a healthy lifestyle. The event takes place at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the extension office, 1211 S.E. Bay Blvd. in Newport.
Hosting the event will be Kaety Jacobsen of Oregon Sea Grant, OSU’s county extension leader, an expert on public outreach and engagement on coastal and ocean issues; and Jessica Linnell, of OSU Extension Family & Community Health, who specializes in translating public health and nutrition research into practical public knowledge.
