The Hatfield Marine Science Center’s summer seminar continues with a talk called "With friends like this, who needs anemones? Intraspecific competition of Anthopleura elegantissima in the rocky intertidal zone." It takes place on Thursday, Aug. 17, 3:30 p.m., in the auditorium of the Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building at HMSC (2030 S.E. Marine Science Dr. in Newport).

This is a hybrid event; use this link to join via Zoom.

The speaker is Nate Kirk, a molecular ecologist in the Department of Integrative Biology at Oregon State University.

About Dr Kirk:

"I am a molecular ecologist, who is broadly interested in cnidarian (coral and sea anemone) symbiotic relationships with microbes and how this impacts their health and behavior."
