Learn the truth about sharks from Dr. Taylor Chapple, when the Oregon Chapters of the Surfrider Foundation sponsor an online presentation by Dr. Taylor Chapple on Thursday, Oct. 15, 6:30 p.m.   Dr Chapple is a professor at the Hatfield Marine Science Center of Oregon State University who has been working with sharks around the world for nearly 20 years. Using cutting edge technology, rigorous science and engaging media platforms, Taylor has been working to use science to change how we think about sharks. Drawing from his research on white sharks in California, Cape Cod and South Africa, He will be discussing how we perceive sharks and the reality behind the hype.

Although the presentation is free and open to the public, Newport Surfrider is asking for donations to help victims of the recent fire in Lincoln County. The money raised will go to Echo Mountain Fire Relief. Their focus is on helping families who lost their homes and have been left without resources for recovery.

Register through Eventbrite.  Participants will receive an email with a link to the Zoom meeting
