South Coast Trails Open House
The Forest Service is invited south coast trail users to drop by and talk about anything trail-related of interest to you. The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest recreation staff will hold an open house on Wednesday, April 11, 4-8 p.m. in the conference room of the Gold Beach Ranger District (29279 Ellensburg Ave., aka Hwy 101) in Gold Beach.
Notes the Kalmiopsis Audubon Society, “If you’ve enjoyed hiking on field trips up to Signal Buttes to look for wildflowers in the proposed Veva Stansell Botanical Area —or up the Illinois River Trail, or the Rogue River Trail, Vulcan Lake or Vulcan Peak --or on many other special local Forest Service trails, this is a good chance to check in, say hello, ask questions, and show support for your favorite trails and also more generally for the value of outdoor recreation in our special corner of Oregon.”
If you can’t make this open house, consider sending a short note to the Recreation Program Manager Dave Sheehan at dsheehan@fs.fed.us
