CoastWatch is joining forces with the North Coast Chapter of Surfrider Foundation and Friends of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve to sponsor a free online showing of the film “The Story of Plastic” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 18.  The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion.

“The Story of Plastic” brings into focus the alarming, man-made crisis we have created through the widespread uses of plastic and the debris it creates, and describes the efforts of heroes who are working every day to combat the impacts of “big plastic.” After the film, learn more from our panelists about efforts underway here in Oregon to reduce plastics and ways that you can get involved.

Panelists will include:

  • Megan Ponder, producer of The Story of Plastic
  • Bri Goodwin, Oregon Field Manager for Surfrider Foundation
  • Local Waste Manager (invited)
  • Local business (invited)

Those who register will receive a link to stream the film from the event host 48 hours before the event start time. The link will be delivered to you at the email address you use to RSVP. In that same email, you will also receive zoom info for the panel discussion.  Go here to register.
