Lincoln County Community Rights is sponsoring a talk on “Climate Change:  The Ocean, Forests, and the Green New Deal.”  The speaker is Chuck Willer, director of the Coast Range Association.  The event, free and open to all, takes place on Thursday, Nov. 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the lower level meeting room of the Atonement Lutheran Church (2315 N. Hwy 101) in Newport.

Willer will discuss coastal prospects under the current climate emergency and address what he views as the only viable proposal to address the climate crisis - a national Green New Deal.

Chuck will explore the scale of the problem and outline the scale of the solution. What will a real climate solution look like for Lincoln County? And, when the political system is finally forced to address the emergency, how will regions like coastal Oregon fare?

Park in the north end of the parking area to access the ground level door on the back of the building, acessible without stairs.

Refreshments will be served.  While there is no charge for the event, donations are accepted.  For more information, contact lccrights@gmail.com.
