Join the Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS for a history program spanning the area between the headlands bookending Netarts Bay on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. RSVP here for exact meeting location. 

Park Ranger Travis Korbe of the Cape Lookout Management Unit of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will provide an historical overview of the stretch of coast from Cape Lookout to Cape Meares. The first half will focus on the Cape Meares Lighthouse, the second half will focus on the history of the area from Oceanside to Cape Lookout including Three Arch Rocks and the B-17 crash on Cape Lookout of 1943. For anyone interested, Ranger Korbe will offer a private tour of the Cape Meares Lighthouse after the talk. 

Park Ranger Travis Korbe has been an interpretive ranger for State Parks since 2008 providing everything from campground programs to guided kayak towards. Before that he was a first grade teacher, and worked for the Boy Scouts.
