The Lower Nehalem Watershed Council hosts a talk by Katie Voelke, executive director of the North Coast Land Conservancy, at its meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m., at the Pine Grove Community House (225 Laneda Ave.) in Manzanita. The event is free and open to all.
Voelke’s topic is “North Coast Ecology: A Picture of Diversity.” She will focus on the terrestrial ecosystems of the northern Oregon coast. The ecosystems of this region are highly diverse, and she will discuss how this can be turned to advantage in creating resilience to climate change effects.
Prior to the talk, the watershed council’s board of directors will meet at 5 p.m.
