Talk on Pesticides and Health

The North Coast Citizens for Watershed Protection will hold its first community meeting of 2022 on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  The meeting is open to the public.

Featured speaker is Bryn Clodfelter, who has finished her senior project at Pacific University, and published her health study on acute illnesses among Nehalem and Wheeler residents as they relate to the mass spraying of pesticides. Her study was conducted between November, 2020 and February, 2021, and concludes that something is driving up the rates of acute illnesses among area residents. Clodfelter will present her findings and will be available for questions.  Her talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

The meeting will also give residents of north coast watersheds a chance to share updates about the work they are doing to protect drinking water from pesticides and other forestry practices.
