The current planning process for Oregon’s rocky shore areas is all about particular places, but the next meeting of the Territorial Sea Plan Working Group, devoted to rocky shores, is placeless. It will be held entirely online or by phone, and is open to any who wish to listen in.
Oregon’s Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) created the Territorial Sea Plan Working Group to consider changes to policies and regulations under Goal 19 of the statewide planning goals, which deals with the territorial sea (from the intertidal to three miles offshore). In turn the working group established a sub-group reviewing and revising the state’s Rocky Shore Management Strategy. This body is holding a virtual meeting on Friday, Nov. 30, from 9-11 a.m. They will be discussing the draft policy statement they are working on, and preparing for the OPAC meeting coming up Dec. 7.
For details on how to join the meeting, see below. For more information, contact Deanna Caracciolo, the rocky shores coordinator for the Oregon Coastal Management Program, (503) 934-0026, deanna.caracciolo@state.or.us.
