The topic for the April edition of the American Cetacean Society—Oregon Chapter’s speaker series is “Community Science & You.” The event, 10 a.m.-noon, is free and open to all, and is required for anyone wishing to volunteer.
The webinar will present three community science projects that are open to volunteers. Each can be fit into any schedule.
Whales & Marine Reserves: Education and Awareness is a community science effort of the American Cetacean Society-Oregon Chapter. Joy Primrose, American Cetacean Society (ACS) Oregon Chapter President and Era Horton, ACS Certified Naturalist will be the presenters.
They will present the overall project and the three specific ways in which volunteers can be involved along with some of the results to date. This meeting will also serve as the required volunteer training for participating. This project takes place in Oregon's five marine reserves.
