Entanglement is a leading cause of serious injury and mortality of many whale populations. The Hatfield Marine Science Center is hosting a talk by Doug Sandilands with the Pacific Northwest Large Whale Response Network. This lecture will specifically review:
• The problem of large whale entanglement
• What the North Pacific Large Whale Entanglement Response Network is doing to address the problem
• How mariners, naturalists and the public can help as educators and first responders
