The seventh annual Summer Whale Watch Weekend will be held July 28-29. The Oregon Chapter of the American Cetacean Society (ACS) is hosting the event at Boiler Bay State Scenic Viewpoint (about a mile north of Depoe Bay) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both weekend days.
ACS volunteer members and Certified Naturalists will be on hand each day to help you watch for whales and other wildlife as well as provide information on whales, dolphins, porpoises and their habitats. This event is free, open to the public, and fun for families and people of all ages. No worries about seasickness; this is an eco-friendly, shore-based whale watch. You can observe the whales in their natural habitat without causing a disturbance. Questions are encouraged.
The American Cetacean Society, founded in 1967, is the oldest whale conservation organization in the world, founded in 1967. The mission of this all volunteer non-profit is to protect whales, dolphins, porpoises, and their habitats through public education, research grants, and conservation actions.
