Join Oregon Wild for this special event featuring award winning author and photographer Tim Palmer, as he shows photos and tells stories based on his new book, "Wild and Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy", published in 2017 by Oregon State University Press. The book presents an illuminating portrait of the world's premier system for the protection of natural rivers, and reveals the history and essential policies of this unique national program. The event will take place on November 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Hopworks Urban Brewery ( 2944 SE Powell Blvd, Portland). This is a free and open to all ages. Food, drinks, and Tim Palmer’s books will be available for purchase.
In addition, learn more about the work that Oregon Wild does to protect Oregon’s wild lands, and the rivers, streams, and wetlands that bind them together, and join Oregon Wild in the 50th anniversary of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act in 2018.
Tim Palmer is also the author of Field Guide to Oregon Rivers and more than 20 other books about rivers, the environment, and adventure travel. As a writer, citizen conservationist, and environmental planner he has been involved in the Wild and Scenic Rivers system almost since its founding. See his work at www.timpalmer.org.
