Offshore Wind Energy Webinar

An active planning process is underway which could bring wind power turbines to the ocean off Oregon’s shores in coming years.  On May 12 and 13, public webinars explaining the planning process are being offered by the state’s Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) and the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).  On May 12, the event begins at 1 p.m.  See separate listing for the ones taking place May 13.

BOEM and DLCD will provide updates on their current outreach and engagement activities to inform possible offshore wind energy leasing along the Oregon coast. The agencies will inform the public on data and information collected during a coordinated statewide outreach effort conducted since the fall of 2020. The public will have an opportunity to share information and ask questions of BOEM and DLCD representatives during a question-and-answer session immediately following the BOEM-DLCD presentation.
