CoastWatch is beginning to offer in-person beachwalks and field trainings again.  Our citizen science trainer, Fawn Custer, will meet people—CoastWatchers and other interested in learning about the program—on the beach at Seal Rock for a tidepool exploration on Friday, May 28, at 8:30 a.m.  The event is free and open to all.

Fawn will provide some basic training in CoastWatch monitoring and information about citizen science projects such as marine debris surveys and sea star observation.  She will also point out the flora and fauna of beach and rocky shores, and happily answer any and all questions.

Please wear a mask if you have not been vaccinated.

Meet on the beach south of the Seal Rock State Wayside parking lot. Look for Fawn on the beach in her trademark orange rainpants.
