Learn about the ecology of the Oregon shoreline from the author of The Northwest Coast: A Natural History, when marine ecologist Stewart Schultz leads a CoastWatch beachwalk at Fort Stevens State Park on Saturday, July 31, beginning at 11:30 a.m.  The event is free and open to all.

Schultz book explores our area’s coastal habitats.  He will discuss the organisms found on Oregon’s north coast shoreline and just offshore, including the natural materials found in the driftline.  The information he provides will be fascinating to anyone who loves coastal natural history, but be particularly instructive to CoastWatchers.

CoastWatch Volunteer Coordinator Jesse Jones will also be on hand, to explain CoastWatch monitoring and answer questions about the program.

Meet Stewart and Jesse at 11:30 at the Peter Iredale shipwreck parking lot in Fort Stevens State Park. Follow the signs from Hwy 101 south of Warrenton to Peter Iredale Rd.:  https://goo.gl/maps/qz5seNhBKpEWMoVD6

Please let us know you are coming.  To register, or for more information, contact Jesse Jones, (503) 989-7244, jesse@oregonshores.org.
